Stress Management for Yacht Crew and Corporate Teams
75 Euros per Person (4 person minimum)
We all experience stress to a certain extent, and sometimes it can be helpful and motivating. However, when it reaches a certain level it can be detrimental to our performance and our physical and mental well-being. Within the workshop, we will look at definitions of stress and resilience so you really understand what they are in order to effectively deal with stress in your life.
My 4 hour workshop teaches you to use cognitive behavioural therapy tools and techniques to make you resilient to stress. You will learn:
- how to relax using progressive muscle relaxation techniques that will make you feel like you just stepped out of a spa
- how our bodies react to stress, “the fight or flight response” and more about the autonomic nervous system
- What events cause stress from the small to the large and how they might impact us
- Calming techniques such as breathing exercises utilised by professional sportsmen and the SAS for enhancing performance in stressful situations and for general wellbeing
- How to maximise the benefits of the 4 things that help us combat stress (Social support, Exercise, Nutrition, Sleep)
- Constructive vs non constructive ways to combat stress
- How your personal values affect stress in your life
- A little bit about Neuroscience: the way our brain works and how we can use this information to combat stress
- About relaxation and resilience, relaxation is associated with confidence
- And finally how to turn worry into problem solving, worry is something we all need to do less of, it steals from us valuable time and even our sleep
- How you can identify stress and how it is affecting you or others
Stress is in fact a mental health problem and can cause physical symptoms. If not dealt with in the correct way can lead to serious problems. Some of the physical manifestations of stress are eczema, excessive perspiration, blushing, high blood pressure and IBS. I can show you how CBT with hypnosis can address a psychological problem and show a positive physical result.
You can’t change the way someone else thinks, feels or behaves. You can only do that for yourself. Changing our way of thinking about things can stop negative feelings which can stop negative behaviour. This part of CBT is close to my heart as I have been able to manage my own mild depression with these tools. I have a separate diploma in Stress Management Resilience Building and am eager to share my passion with you.
If we consider the fact that 50% of people have a psychiatric problem at some point in their life, it is more common than having blue eyes. This means anxiety and depression are normal so we must consider the benefits of building resilience to stress to eliminate them much like the immune system protects us from illness.
Resilience is accepting or tolerating anxiety, pain and frustration. There is no “I can't” in resilience. My stress management course builds your resilience
